While working on this final paper, I saw an Old Navy commercial and was reminded that once again another HUGE sale is going on Tomorrow:
$2 Tank Tops!!!
Tank tops are definitely a summer essential:
-You can layer them for a cute colorful look. They can even match those new fresh dunks you just bought.
-You can wear them with a flowy skirt for a soft pretty look.
-You can wear them with jeans for a cute casual look...
-Or You can dress it up a little with a hot necklace and some fly heels.
See the versatility of a simple tank top? And the best part is you can get them for the LOW tomorrow at Old Navy. Where else can you find tank tops for the price of a McDouble and a Sweet Tea (btw all size McD soft drinks are ONLY $1!)
For those who survived the $1 flip-flop madness, you know that you must get there Early if you want the good stuff (eg. real colors, your size tanks, etc.). I recommend you getting there at least 30 mins. before the mall opens--they will open early.
Let me know if you get anything and all the madness you had to go through. lol
Happy Shopping!

NOT HOT Style of the Day
In my opinion...
Coogi 'fits are NOT fly. They are too bright, too colorful, and too hood.
Fellas, DON'T DO IT!
Exhibit A and Exhibit B:
Do you really wanna rock that?! Don't Listen to Foxx, Boosie, and Webbie. They are "Coogi Down," but they are also wearing Shades:
And they make this Hot Ghetto Mess for Ladies too:
<----------Exhibit C. $250 for this foolishness?! Really?! I'd rather go spend that type of money at Bebe.
And Proof that these clothes are HGM (Hot ghetto mess) worthy, Exhibit D: And I bet that every color in her head is in that shirt.
Final Verdict: Coogi is not the business, unless you're into that hood/ghetto look. Honestly, you look like a box of Trix/fruity pebbles/Lucky Charms with that ish on. If you're gonna spend more than $100 on a dress, plz go to Bebe, Dillards, Cache, etc. You're sure to find something fly and classy there. Guys, ROCK A POLO!!! And Lacoste is nice too. :)

Hair Update+Sale Alert
Hello loves!
I know I haven't posted in a minute; I was working on a big paper, but I'm taking a break to let you know that I updated my hair color for the summer:
So I got highlights. Instead of doing streaks I decided to let my stylist do panels--A layered approach with the first layer a reddish shade, the second layer a copper shade, and the third layer is left my natural haircolor (dark brown). I think it's pretty flyy. What do you think?!
I also want to let you know that there is a HUGE sale going on at Target. Since we're back on the hair topic, ALL Pantene products are $3.33 right now! The big industrial sized bottle of Relaxed and Natural Shampoo is only about $5. And for all you cosmetic heads, most products are 10% off right now. I also noticed that a lot of skincare products are on sale too. So you definitely do not wanna miss out on these deals!

-YOU want to look fab (hopefully).
-YOU don't know wtf to do with your hair.
-YOU know what you want to do with your hair, but you don't know how to do it.
-YOU are broke.
Solution:
- For those with Longer/medium hair, why not cut it? Lots of hair in the summertime can be very aggravating, especially when it's worn down. Now before you get the "Hell No" out your mouth, hear me out. I was the same way about my hair, not wanting to ever cut it because it was "long for a black girl." But honestly, long hair with no style and split ends are NOT the business. Plus, I really wanted a change. There are many cute styles that will actually turn your swag up, especially this summer. Short(er) hair is in; just look at celebrities like Rocsi, Halle Berry, Taraji P. Henderson, Keri Hilson, Keyshia Cole and Rihanna. Plus less hair=less hair product, so you will be saving money!
Sounds a little more appealing, right?
So, here are some things to consider if you do decide to get to snippin:
- LET A STYLIST CUT IT! It won't cost too much to get a cut with a wash and set. This is YOUR hair--it doesn't grow back that quick and a good weave is definitely NOT cheap. Don't let an amateur f- your ish up.
- Get a STYLE! If you get a plain chop off and bump under/flip style, chances are you won't like your hair.
- You don't have to Halle/Rihanna it. For those like me who don't want to let go of too much hair, I suggest getting an angled bob--shorter in the back than the front--leaving a good length of hair in the front while getting that hot heavy a** hair off your back/neck. Layers are also a good choice for those with thinner hair. Look online for other styles that appeal to you.
- Know your face type! Seriously, a style for a heart-shaped face will look a hot mess on a more square/oblong face. For help with determining your face-shape and perfect styles, visit these sites: Visual Makeover and Hair-Styles.net
3. So you have a style now/already. Still not satisfied? How about some COLOR?
- For first-timers, it's best to go to a professional. They can tell you what will work/look best for your hair type/color and skin type.
- Also, for first-timers, you may want to try highlights, or a more temporary option-a rinse. Both of these options are less dramatic.
- For warm skin tones-olive, golden, brown skin with brown/dark eyes (most blacks, latinas, and asians)-try golden colors-caramel, chocolate, auburn, copper, cayenne red. Blonde is a tough color to pull off; you either look fierce or ridiculous with it. It's usually not a good look if you have a lot of yellow in your skin and if you're brown or darker-skinned. Almost anyone can go red, you just have to pick the right shade. A stylist can give (free) tips and suggestions.
- Seasons are important: go lighter or more golden in the spring/summer; save the dark colors (dark brown, blue/burgundy undertones) in the fall/winter. ***Note: Jet black hair is actually kinda hot right now so if you think you can pull it off, go for it!
- DO NOT try to go 2+ shades lighter than your current color. It's damaging and you won't get your desired color. A jet black will NOT go blonde without bleach, which you should avoid period. If you really want light hair, it's gonna be a long process.
- DO NOT try and get your hair colored right after getting a relaxer/perm. Your hair will break off.
- For those who have a little more experience with color, you can save a few bucks with the "box" colors. bleach, and ammonia-based products are bad. Dark & lovely and Clairol Textures & Tones are the best products to use.

R U Ready?!
Hello loves!
After this past year in college, I've learned a valuable lesson: Unemployment=limited funds=less money for shopping. As a moderate shopaholic, this limited funds situation made me an unhappy camper. However, thanks to a couple of good (and smart) friends, websites, and my own observations, I was able to learn that you don't have to be ballin' to look good. Because I love to help others, I'm going to share tips and tricks of fabulousness so that you will be on point for that next party, meeting, ceremony, or any other day you want to look your best. And the best thing is that you'll be able to do this on the average college budget (which ain't that much after tuition, books, and housing are handled)!
What to expect from this site: tips and tricks, info on big sales/deals, coupons, what's hot/what's not, reader's input, and stuff to make you laugh (Sorry, I'm a jokester).
Hope you enjoy!
